The Bouncing Souls, live!

Moi, j’attendais The Boucing Souls.
Huge punk/rock show yesterday in Auckland: The Bouncing Souls, coming straight from New York City, played at the Kings Arms Tavern!
I went there with Marco, a German guy from Grafton who joined two other Germans and a Canadian at the Kings Arms.
The first two bands were not really good. First, there was The Suicide Dogs, then the Missing Teeth. Two old school punk bands from Auckland. Ok, they weren’t that bad, but it was always the same thing and very simple. It seems every punk guy in the audience appreciated. Good for them.
Meanwhile, I was drinking some beers with Marco. He doesn’t like punk music; I wonder what he was doing at this show. Nevertheless, he likes beer, and he wasn’t disappointed by the Kings Arms’ selection. Good for him. On top of that, there’s a garden in this pub, when we could quietly drink our beer, far from the noise, the stage-divings, the disgusting smell of sweat and the glasses of beer on the ground.
I was waiting for The Bouncing Souls, and the least I can say is that I wasn’t disappointed! Simply put, those guys have class. From the first to th elast minute, they played with the same enthusiasm and the same energy, and that’s quite impressive for a band that have been touring for nearly 15 years...
Even the more skeptical people in the attendance finally embraced the ultra positive energy emanating from the american foursome. In the end, those who weren’t jumping could be counted on one hand only: Marco, me when I was taking pictures, one of the bartenders and a guy totally pissed in a corner of the pub. From “Kids & Heroes” to “Gone”, none to forget “Anchor Aweigh” or “That Song”, all of their hits have been played. Fuck, when’s the next show?
Jey
